Hi-- I find a William Taylor m 15 Aug 1836 to Mary C. Merret in the Portage Co marriage book--1808-1850 Vol 1. I also found William N. (or V.) Taylor died 11 Jan 1842--age 31 buried in the Restland Cemetery, Brimfield Twp, Portage Co OH. Hope this helps.
