I couldn't find my great grandmother, either, so I wrote to the Ohio Historical Society, giving her name, parent's names (as best I could), estimated date and location of birth and her death date. I enclosed the $3.00 check with the request for a search. They found her! And sent the certificate pretty quickly. You might give it a try. Good luck!
