I am looking for any information on MARY ELLEN PERKINS was born February 10, 1844 in Suffield Township, Portage Co., Ohio, and died 1915 in Portage Co., Ohio. I am looking for information on her parents and siblings. Other information that I have is that she married VOLNEY ROGERS April 23, 1859 in Portage Co., Ohio, son of WILLIAM ROGERS and MINERVA GOSS. He was born August 01, 1837 in Randolph Township, Randolph,Portage Co., Ohio, and died 1914 in Portage Co., Ohio. MARY ELLEN PERKINS is buried in Sand Hill Cemetery, Row 23, Randolph Township, Portage Co., Ohio VOLNEY ROGERS: married Mary Ellen Perkins first and the Ophelia...Volney Rogers had been engaged in farming and dealing in stock. He owned 130 acres of good land. He lived his whole life in Randolph. He enlisted in 1861 in Company I, One Hundred and Fourth Ohio Volunteer Infantry, and was musterd out June 22, 1864. Volney, who went to school to James A. Garfield, and boarded with him one term, was also a teacher, and taught fifteen terms.
