I have noticed a great deal of interest in the surnames of DAVIS and DAVIES on this mail list. This is a line I have been researching for a number of years, but from Columbiana, OH. I already understand that this is a very common name, but I still need to ask if anyone has Davis links to Columbiana. Other surnames are QUANTANCE, HIATT, FISHER, LAMBORN, ELLIS, AND ROBERTS. The earliest DAVIS that I have been able to document is Samual Davis b. before 1700 in Philadelphia, PA. This family is predominantly Members of the Society of Friends.
