I am the local historian for Paris Township which is the sister township to Palmyra. I have information on numerous Davis settlers from the 1850's to 1900's for both Palmyra and Paris. My research involves old township trustee records, cemetery and school records, etc. from Paris and old cemetery records for Palmyra. About 15 years ago I found a grave in Palmyra for a lady in Wales and if you give me more information, I might be of some assistance. My ggrandfather, Evan Davis emmigrated from somewhere in "South Wales" about 1875 with his wife Elizabeth (Williams) my grandfather John and another son Morgan. They may have come through Johnstown PA but they were definitely in Palmyra in 1880 (census data.) Both my grandfather and ggrandfather were coal miners so I've been hoping that someone else might have similar pattern that might point to an origin on the assumption that friends and family tended to emmigrate together. My ggrandmother is thought to have died in 1885. Other children in the family born in the US were Ann, Mary, Tom and Howard. Does any of this fit any of the information you might have?
