Hi there Listers :-)! I am researching ALL ROUSE Families in PORTAGE COUNTIES :-)!!! I know that there was a GEORGE W. ROUSE , born abt 1837 in New York & living in KENT, Iowa, on the 1880 census , with his wife SARAH A. CUTHBERT ROUSE, daughter of JAMES CUTHBERT & ANN CRAIG GRAHAM. I have a strong suspicion that this George W. Rouse is related to my FRANKLIN ROUSE, born abt 1833 in New York & living in Poweshiek Co, IOWA, in 1880. Both men told the 1880 census taker that their father was born in GERMANY. George & Sarah Rouse's children in 1880 were ANNA E. ROUSE, age 16, born in OHIO, & HARRY C. ROUSE, age 13, born in OHIO. FRANKLIN & MARGARET DAVIES ROUSE's youngest daughter MARGARET LAURA ROUSE married CHARLES WHITE in KENT, IOWA, in 1885. Franklin Rouse & most of his children, (Maggie Sr. had died in 1879), moved to San Bernardino, California in 1882/1883. Was Maggie Jr. staying with George W. Rouse's family....or another Rouse family in Portage Co, Ohio??? TIA for ANY clues for these Rouse Families :-)!!! Janet & Family
