A complete description can be viewed at the following address: http://www.har-indy.com/oh_map/oh_index.html This is a departure from our other Midwestern Atlas CD's in that it is more like an e-book than a simple series of maps. There is quite a bit of statistical data in this atlas including sections on: Agriculture, Canals, Climate Map, Climatology, Colleges, County Evolution, Land Grants of Ohio, Geological Map, Geology, History, Schools and Seminaries, Post Offices, Railways, Statistics and Surveys of Ohio. Multiple adjacent county maps are useful for identifying 1868 transportation routes, railroads, canals and early Ohio place names. The 25 city maps in the Atlas are much more detailed with many early government and industrial sites including: a variety of mills, cemeteries, churches, schools, asylums, fair grounds, race tracks, business locations, and more. The original 68-page atlas has been scanned at 400 dpi and is presented in Adobe PDF format. Customized maps and selections of text may be easily accessed and copied for use in research, project reports, etc. This CD provides a digital snapshot of mid-nineteenth century Ohio useful to anyone conducting research during this period of Ohio's history.
