I am trying to find information on John Randall who married Sarah Myers 12 May 1835 in Portage County, Ohio. (his name could be spelled Randle). John Randall was born in 1816 and came from Leeds, England. He was royalty and lost his title when he married a commoner. He was the 3rd world prize-fighting champion. He was a weaver of silk. He played the clarinet. A fighter from England found him "in his later years" and came to Randolph, Portage, Ohio to fight him under a tree to take the championship belt away from John. As John was much older at the time, he lost and the young man took the belt back to England with him. (Note the ambiguous wording of "later years", and older--not a clue as to the time frame might have been. Those are all I have.) His last child was born in 1856. The 1850 census said that he was 44 years old and was a "weaver" by profession. This would make his birth year around 1805 or 1806. It lists his wife, Sarah, as 38 years old.
