Joe; Diamond is in Palmyra township, and I believe it was the name of the railroad stop - the railroad had been abandoned for many years. It is the US Post Office location. There was a 'Black Diamond' coal mine in the area many years ago, that my Dad talked about, and I think he used to get coal from that mine for our home furnace (I'm giving away my age!). Diamond is about 1.5 miles east of Palmyra Center on what used to be Ohio State Route 18, until I-76 was built about 1/2 mile north and paralleling the route. It is now a Portage County road.
