Sometime ago I wrote to the Palmyra Methodist Church about possible records from the 1870s and 1880s. So far I've had no response. Does anyone know if this congregation is still active and if so, what records might remain?

Joe - I looked up the address in a yellow pages listing at : http://www.switchboard.com/ Palmyra United Methodist Church 3968 State Route 225 Diamond, OH 44412-9757 Phone: (330) 654-2396 I'm sure this is correct, since my boyhood home was 2 doors up at 3996 SR 225. The church was still there, and active as of the last time I drove through town. My dad was a member until he passed away a few years ago. At that time, the Pastor was a Rev Kubitchek (?spelling?), who lived a few miles west of Palmyra Center. I don't have any other addresses or contacts for you, as no-one in my family is still nearby. I'll contact my sister, who lives north of Warren, OH to see if she has any contacts. In the meantime, I'm sure someone else on this list will reply.
