About a year ago ran across a web site of The Bleier Family which had information about descendants of William W. McCall -- daugher Ella who married Solomon Johnson Payne. I am also one of his descendants, and I would love to get in touch with the originator of the website. It no longer seems to be online. I also would like to correspond with any other Portage county relatives of the Titus Bonney, Jared Knowlton, McCall, Sherwood, King or Nicholson lines. Does anyone know how to find the Bleiers? Thanks, Janet

I'd appreciate any information you might have on the following surnames: SPENCER, WHITE, JOHNSON and LANDFEAR. Thanks. Carolyn M. Seaman
Hi Tali in California - Levi and Delana Patterson were my 4g-grandparents. Their son Henry Levi Patterson (c1825-1909) married Sarah Ann Hollister; their son Amos L. Patterson (1861-1927) married Hattie L. Beldon; their son Roy Belden Patterson (1886-1928) was the father of my grandmother; Naomi Louise Patterson (Huffman) (Johnson) (1908-2001). Levi apparently was from CT and moved to Paris Twp., Portage County sometime about 1820. Malvina (Melvina, etc.) was a daughter of Levi & Delana; I'm not sure right off who Mary Patterson was, but she might well be another daughter, as they had a passle of kids. Please feel free to contact me off-list about Pattersons, Wil(l)sons & Selby too! Cheers from Alison, also in California Tali Barbosa wrote: > Gerald, you certainly have stirred some life into this list with your offer > to look for obituaries in the index. I'd appreciate anything you have on the Briggs name. Marilee Larkey
Hi! Here is the info I have - Mary Ann Inglesby, b.26 Jan 1842 in Lockport, Niagara, NY d. 19 May 1921 in Lakewood, Cuyahoga, Oh. Her death certificate lists her mother as Sarah Smith (b. in Ireland) and her father as John Inglesby (b. in Ireland). Mary Ann's huband was Lot Laughlin. Lot was b. 3 Dec. 1834 in Ireland and d. 10 May 1921 in Lakewood, Cuyahoga, Oh. His parents were Jno. Laughlin (b. in Ireland) and his mother's name was unknown. This is from his death record, too. The Sarah I asked about appears to be Mary Ann's mother who was living with them in Aurora for a time. If any of this matches up with you, I'd love to hear about it! Thanks, Tami
i have Maple Grove cem books, will gladly do lookups. Does anyone have St. Mary's cem book? Judi
Nancy - Don't know if it is of any interest, but to the best of my knowledge, there is a Pritchard still living in Palmyra: I was raised there, and went thru 12 years of school with a Gary Pritchard. His father was ?Darst? Pritchard; don't remember his mother's name, or any other family history. Gary would now be about 60, and he had a younger sister, Judy. Bonita, How exciting to hear from someone who lives in Paris Township. I had no idea about all of the roads baring the original family names. I appreciate the offer for look-ups in the Paris and Charlestown cemetery book but I do own the book myself. Some of the people that I have listed are in the cemetery book and that is why I know they died within the timeframe that "Jerry's" index covers. I am hoping for a bit more information beyond date of death from the obituary extracts. I wonder if any of the original papers from which the obituaries were extracted are still extant? As to photographs of the stones, I may take you up on that one of these days. I have some but not all of those of interest. I will have to sit down and sort out what I am missing. I suppose you will need to wait until spring, as I imagine they are covered with snow at this time. Hi Janet. I just checked my files and I don't have anyone with that name. Just recently got back to the Pri(t)chard line and haven't done much except the immediate family which is Jesse and Cornelia Cadwell Pritchard. My direct line is Andrew J. son of Jesse and his first wife Eliza Gillett. Andrew married Louisa Poland in Portage County 1852 and she is the BIG mystery. She and her brother were living with the Roswell Manley family in 1850 and I haven't been able to find out anything else about her. I will keep my eyes open for your family and if you come across any reference to Louisa give me a shout! Thanks Nancy
My Kings came to Portage County in about 1807 and include many other >lines >>such as Harmon, Selby, Bancroft, Knowlton, and many others. >>Hope to hear form you. Hi! I am researching the Memmer tree in Portage. Do you have any Memmer, Schaffer, Griggy in your line? I have just recently begun this branch, so I don't have too much info yet. LaRa
