    1. [OHPort'ge] Taylor/Dyson 1800 -1900 Trumbull, Portage, Mercer, Jackson Co.'s OH, PA, IA
    2. Sharon Paulson
    3. I am trying to find information about Elizabeth Taylor Dyson and her family. She was b. 1807 Trumbull Co. (could possibly be Portage Co.) She m. 1825 James Dyson. She from Liberty, Trumbull Co. They lived in Trumbull Co., OH and Mercer Co., PA on and off until 1851 when they moved to Iowa. They had at least 18 children. James W. Dyson, their son, b. 1829 in Trumbull Co. m. Adaline E. Sigler. They stayed in the Trumbull Co. area when his parents moved to Iowa. He d. 1907 in Fowler. James Dyson's parents were Abraham and Polly Taylor Dyson. They came from Delaware to Portage Co. in 1804 with the John Garrett family. They were early settlers. Garrettsville is named for John Garrett. They lived near Hiram. Where did Abraham and Polly die and where are they buried? Who were the parents of Elizabeth Taylor? Was John F. Taylor her brother (as a boy he helped plant trees in Hiram in 1819)? Trumbull Co., OH Does anyone have information about George Taylor. He was on the tax lists for 1806, 1807, 1808??? John Taylor was on the tax lists for 1806-1809??? In 1809 he was on the tax list for Liberty Twp???? Robert Taylor was on the tax list for 1808???? William Taylor had a son Thomas Taylor. Thomas lived in Mercer Co., PA and moved to Jackson Co., IA in 1851. The Dyson's (Elizabeth and James) moved to Jackson Co., IA in 1851. Listed in the roll for War of 1812 is Oratto Taylor and Abraham Dyton (Dyson), Portage Co., OH. In 1827 Portage Co. took a count of white men over the age of 21 and Abraham Dyson living in Nelson twp (just east of Hiram twp) was listed. Does anyone have info about any of the Taylor's that lived in Portage and Trumbull Co.,'s after 1800 to about 1850? There were a lot of Taylor's there. Were they all related? If so, how? Have there been any rumors of any of them related to Zachary Taylor, president? Thanks Sharie Oceanside, CA

    1. [OHPort'ge] new email worm

    3. MessageThis comes from a very well known computer tech. So believe it. ----- Original Message ----- From: Andi To: Mom Sent: Tuesday, April 29, 2003 2:39 PM Subject: Fw: new email worm ----- Original Message ----- From: mnicoletti@aplighting.com Sent: Tuesday, April 29, 2003 11:48 AM in the latest example of computer virus writers capitalizing on current events, a new email worm uses fears about SARS to entice users into opening a file attachment, infecting host machines and helping spread the virus to other machines on the Internet. The worm, W32/Coronex-A (Coronex), is a mass-mailer worm that uses Microsoft's Outlook e-mail application to send copies of itself to unsuspecting recipients, according to an alert from antivirus company Sophos. Coronex arrives as an attachment in email messages that carry a variety of subject lines and messages relating to SARS, or Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome, the deadly new respiratory illness that has turned up in Asia, North America, and Europe. Greetings such as "SARS Virus," "I need your help," and "deaths virus," accompany messages containing the virus, according to antivirus software company Symantec. Attachments containing the virus with names like "sars.exe," "Hongkong.exe," and "deaths.exe" also play into media reports of the illness, which is concentrated in Asia, Sophos said. When opened, the attachment launches the virus, displaying a pop-up window with the message "corona virus." The Coronex virus modifies the Windows registry, adding an entry to ensure that it is launched whenever Windows starts, changing the start page for the Internet Explorer Web browser, and deriving the location of the Windows Address book. With the addresses in the Windows Address book, Coronex uses its own built-in SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) engine to send copies of itself to the addresses. Sender addresses for those email messages include sars@hotmail.com, corona@hotmail.com, and deaths@china.com, Symantec said.

    3. WOW Briana :-)!!! What a Treasure you found for me & the family :-) !!! It actually had Emily's maiden name in that book??? :-)!!! I had to make that assumption,as I have not yet found their marriage records, as I found Erastus & Emily Hinds on the 1850 census with Mother Elsie,(not sure of spelling or if census taker got first name correct), Rouse & sons, George, James & Charles Rouse & I knew they had two sisters, names unknown . I've also been trying to locate any information about Emily's Mother Rouse, like if she died in Portage, or moved away, perhaps with the youngest son Charles Rouse? Now with the info you so kindly found for me, I might be able to locate the rest of the HINDS family descendents :-). What an interesting man George Hinds must of been & so involved with encouraging reading, That is Great :-)!!!! That's wonderful that the library is still in use, too :-)! Thank-you for the contact info for the Kent Historical Society, I'll be sure to contact them :-). Thank-you so much for all this fascinating information, I really love 'knowing' the family I research :-)! 3. Hello, I am looking for any HINDS Family in Portage, Ohio...sometimes it has been mis-spelled HINES. I have been researching the ERASTUS HINDS Family, Erastus was born abt. 1824 in Massachusetts, (I have his family background), & wife was EMMA/EMILY (most likely maiden name is ROUSE, born about 1826 in New York. Their children that I know of are CARRIE (Carolyn?) HINDS born abt 1861 in Portage, OHIO, and GEORGE E. HINDS, born abt 1851 in Portage, Ohio. By the 1880 census Erastus & Emily & Carrie HINDS are living next door to their son, George, & his family in KENT, PORTAGE, OHIO. George is married to ANN HINDS, (maiden name unk), born abt 1853 in OHIO, their children are: JESSIE HINDS, female, born about 1878 & son ALBERT HINDS ,born abt 1879 in OHIO. Living with the George HINDS family in Kent in 1880 is JULIA PARKINSON, age 19 born in Ireland, domestic servant...MARTHA ROGERS, age 35 born in OHIO, School Teacher....and Lewis Lickens, age 55, born in Pennsylvania, G! ardener & Farmer. George Hinds was a Depot Master in 1880. I'd like to find any possible records of these HINDS, marriage, death, birth, etc....and any of their descendants :-). TIA, Janet & Family
