Hi, I cannot access this web page. The message it gives states that it has been moved or deleted. My most recent Rinehart was Susannah Rinehart b. 22 Dec.1780 in Greene Co., PA. She had siblings, John and Bennett. Their parents were John Reinhart b. in Maryland, and Mary Katherine ?. John's parents were Johannes Reinhart b. in Palatinate, Germany, and Anna Maria O'Neil, b. in Greene Co., PA. I have ancestry going back farther, should you be interested. Susannah Rinehart married Isaiah Strawn, b. in Bucks Co., PA. They had 10 children. I am descended from the 8th - Louisa Strawn, b. 1814, in Greene Co., PA. Many of my Rinehart lateral cousins, etc., moved to Trumbull Co., Ohio. My ggg-grandfather, James Dailey, was born there in 1801. I have more info if you think this may fit with some of yours. I also have ancestry from Portage Co., Ohio - Winkler, Riedinger, and Rose. Were there land records kept from the early 1800's in Portage County? I am looking to see where my ancestors, the Rinehart / Rhinehart's bought land when they moved here.
Who were your Rineharts? I also have Rinehart ancestors from that area. I am new to this list and wonder if queries are allowed. I am looking for information on the family of Anna Sherwood Johnson (d. 1829 in Nelson, Portage County) and Erastus B. Johnson (d. 1865 in Nelson). Specifically, I'm looking for information on their granddaughter, Eureka May Johnson, who was the daughter of Erastus Franklin Johnson of Nelson and Clementine Malinda Earl of Windham.) Eureka had three children with Albert Byers (b. 1854 in Ohio), Franklin Byers(b. 1878 Ohio), Nellie Byers(b. 1886 Nelson) and Clyde Albert Byers (b. 1889 Ohio), who was my grandfather. Are there any descendants of these children out there who might have information? Gloria

I am researching the earliest ordained women in American Congregationalism. One of those women was MRS. LYDIA I. JAMES who was ordained in the town of Lloyd in Portage Co., OH on November 12, 1900. Lydia's husband was Welsh Congregational minister, Rev. Thomas Illyd James. I am seeking a newspaper account of Lydia's ordination, in order to learn more about her. She likely was ordained by a Congregational council representing the Congregational churches in the county--or perhaps more likely, the Welsh Congregational churches. It was typical for such ordinations to be publicized in local and/or county newspapers. I would appreciate any information on this couple. I also welcome any suggestions as to additional resources I should check.. Thank you for your consideration, and best wishes, Rev. Dr. Doug Showalter

I am researching William Archer who was in the 1830 - 1840 & 1850 census of Portage County. He was born about 1790 in PA. He died there in 1860. He had a wife Sarah in 1850 and a wife Lois when he died in 1860. His children were: James, born 1814,wife Mary Randall; George, born 1817, wives were Jane Clark and Mary Hardgrove - he lived in Stark Co. OH; Isaac, born about 1825,wife Elizabeth; Josephus, born 1825, wife Mary Brewster; & daughter Amanda who married Alphonso Hollenbeck. George was my great-grandfather. William Archer is buried in Standing Rock Cemetery in Kent as are his sons James & Josephus and probably Isaac. They all lived in Kent except for George in Massillon. Other names allied with Archers are: Warner, Rose, Lumley, Belding and Parker. Would like to exchange information with anyone who has anything on any of the above. William and some of his children were born in Penna. Thank you. Rose Ann Clark RClark2121@aol.com
