I should have mentioned that the death notice was from 1853. That might be useful information!

I recently ran across a short death notice for someone that lived in Portage county. It said his name, his age, and Fort Wayne. My guess is that he died in Fort Wayne. Is there a Fort Wayne anywhere else aside from Indiana? Is it a safe assumption that he died in Fort Wayne, Indiana? What else could that Fort Wayne mean (a funeral home, cemetery, etc.)? Brian
