The 1850 Census has Samual, Delila and daughter Mary, age 1, living in Brimfield, Portage Co.; Samual was a shoemaker. By 1860 the family was in Jefferson Co., OH. I have No idea who Samual's parents or siblings were. Acutally other than Mary and Augusta, b 1850 (county unknown), I don't have any information on the Goudy children. Kent State University in Kent started out as a normal school to train teachers in 1911. In 1929 it became Kent State College, and in 1938 Kent State University. I believe the Clapps had a farm very close to the University. Jackie

He was born abt. 1840 or 1842. According to his enlistment papers he was born in Hiram, Ohio and was a farmer. He enlisted 01 Jan 1864 and stated his age as 22 years old. He was married to Louisa Rebecca Bond and he died 1925 in Sedan, Chautauqua Co., Kansas. During the Civil War he was attached to the 14th Independent Battery, Ohio Light Artillery.
