Kathy and Portage Co. You can also order the contents of their "file" at the National Archives. For $10, you get whatever is in the file. I ordered several so far, and have copies of signatures, certifications of who lived on land, what kind of house they built, etc. You can find more info on the link at the following site: http://www.providence-dar.org. Go to the genealogy links, and scroll down to the section on the national archives. good luck. Hi Jackie B. H. Cowell is probably a nephew of Ira Cowell. My Ira was born about 1815 in Trumbull County. He and Rachel show up on the Edinburgh 1840 census. I haven't been able to nail down his father. I suspect it's Ransom Cowell, but I'm really not sure. As usual, the spelling is all over the map, which doesn't help. Thank you for the offer of the article on B H but, I already have a copy from the library. I'm sure that B H is related because his children's names are consistent with the family. Thank you.
