    3. Calling all Mott searchers. Just got this from a fellow OHPORTAG searcher. Thought it might be of interest to other Mott searchers. Think this is the line I am working on but can't find the connection Jackson Mott has to this line. It is possible he is a son or nephew. Jackson was born in 1835, had at least 3 daughters, Sarah, Elda and Minnie and at least on son Darius Wm. Mott. < ISAAC MOTT, farmer, P.O. Deerfield, one of the oldest native residents, was born in Deerfield Township, this county, May 10, 1812. His grandfather, Ezekiel Mott, a soldier in the Revolutionary war, was among the pilgrims of 1807 to Deerfield Township, where he cleared a farm and lived to the close of his life. Elijah Mott (father of our subject) was born during the Revolutionary war, and was married to Miss Annie Rose, who bore him ten children, of whom only Sylvester and Isaac survive. The subject of this sketch was married, in Deerfield Township, this county, April 17, 1834, to Miss Elizabeth Jobes, born June 25, 1810. Their living children are Cornelius, married to Miss Carson (have one child - Ada); Cornelia, married to Samuel Mell (their children are Isaac, Frank and Minnie). In 1844 Mr. Mott settled on his present farm consisting of 150 acres, where he has since made his home. He is a member of the United Brethren Church. Politically is a stanch Republican. Ellen

    1. [OHPORTAG-L] LEONARD/REEDER/BEAN/RAPP
    2. Rick
    3. Hi, I am looking for information on the family of William and Barbara LEONARD of Portage County, Ohio in the early to mid 1800s. They had a son Uriah LEONARD, who married Sarah Jane REEDER 1/14/1856. Daughters of William and Barbara LEONARD were Mary Ann LEONARD (m. George REEDER), Sarah June LEONARD (m. George H. RAPP), Lydia S LEONARD who died 11/15/1861 age 13, and Elizabeth LEONARD who died on 11/13/1861 age 15. The two who died young are buried in Atwater Cemetary in Ohio along with a brother Mathias LEONARD (m. Corcelia BEAN) who died 3/12/1866 age 24, and their father William LEONARD who died 10/15/1868 age 62. Do not know where Barbara Leonard died or is buried. The 1850 Portage county census states William LEONARD was age 43 (b. 1807 in PA) and Barbara age 44 (b. 1806 in PA). Does anyone have the PA connection for these two?? Also, there are many REEDERS in the county at the 1850 census. Does anyone have access to the 1850 census and would be willing to do a look up? I would love to see if any of these Reeder families had the young Sarah Jane REEDER at about age 16 in the household. Were Sarah Jane REEDER and George REEDER siblings? I have been told she came from a family of ten. Sarah Jane REEDER was the future bride of Uriah LEONARD. Where did the Reeders live before Ohio? Would anyone have or would be willing to locate a will or letters of administration for William LEONARD who died 10/15/1868 and is buried at Atwater Cemetery?? Or of the REEDERs? Thank you very much for any help or information you might have Rick

    3. Surnames: COBB RICHARDSON JONES HALL Submitter: Cherre Flynn ([email protected]) Date: 21 Nov 1999 Hi! I am attempting to research the surnames: Richardson and Cobb. I know that John R. Richardson and Susanna Cobb were married in Portage County on February 28, 1826. I know they had one daughter, Eunice Lavenia Richardson. And Susanna was "of New York". I am trying to obtain further information on the background of Susanna in particular. I also know they eventually went to live in Ashtabula, Oh. Any further information will be greatly appreciated. Thanks - Cherre
