My husband's great-grandfather, Michael Joseph Roach, was born about 1851 or 1852 in Circleville, Ohio (according to his obituary) to Patrick and Catherine (Loftus) Roach. I contacted the Catholic church there but they have no record of his birth. I heard from family members that he was actually 1/2 of a set of twins but the other child died. Does Pickaway county have birth records that go back that far? Does anyone have any other suggestions of how I might find his birth record? So far I haven't found a family Bible or anything like that. Catherine and Patrick were in New York in 1850 and in Chicago by 1860 so I don't have any record of them in Ohio.
