    2. Hi all Still cleaning off the desk with these extra goodies: Circleville newspaper, no header FISHER W. H. Fisher, a well known farmer died Monday night Aug 2, at his home in Monroe township aged 80 years. He had been afflicted for several years with heart trouble and complications, and on July 29, he had a stroke of paralysis from which he never regained consciousness. He leaves two sons, three daughters, four sisters, and many other relatives and friends. The funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon, Aug 4, at the Yankeetown M. E. church, rev. G. C. McKibben officiating. Burial was in the old Yankeetown cemetery. the date written in by hand is Aug. 2 --------------------------------- CAR ROBBED, J. R. HARDMAN N. & W. detective, was in the city Aug 5, investigating a case of robbery in which the seal of a car of merchandise was broken the night before before near the freight depot; several pairs of shoes consigned to A. D. Schumm, and some scrap tobacco were the only things that were stolen. no date is written in by this article, however the one before and after contain the hand written date of Aug 10. -------------------------- BIG LAND SALE. One of the largest land sales in the county was held at the court house in Circleville Monday afternoon when 533 acres of land in Monroe township, belonging to the late Jonathan Taylor were sold at Sheriff's sale, in the partition suit of Rebecca Haggard vs. Olivia Porter. The farm was divided into six tracts and the whole was bid on at $102.05 an acre and afterward sold in tracts. Tract one, 106 acres and 156 poles, and tract two, 126.69 acres, were purchased by Callie Taylor, Olivia Porter and Ida McCafferty, daughters of Mr. Taylor, at $127.75 an acre. Tract three, containing 75.31 acres, and tract four 79.07 acres were purchased by A. K. Junk at $98.60 an acre. Tract five, containing 85 acres and 32 poles, and tract six, containing 59 acres and 100 poles were purchased by W. C. Adkins and Marion Davis at $67.10 an acre. The total amount of the sale was $54,793.33. F. A. Chaffin, of Washington C. H. and Barton Walters, of this city; represented the plaintiffs, and I. N. Abernethy, the defendants. Tracts five and six will be transferred to A. H. Crownover by Davis Adkins. hand written date of Aug 10 for this one. ------------------------------- Lininger Land Sold for $42,000. The lands belonging tot he estate of the late Michael Lininger were sold at auction Thursday Aug 5 and netted nearly $42,000. These lands comprised about 335 acres, situated near Johnson's Crossing. The home farm of 200 acres was bid in by Jesse and Charles Lininger at $125 per acre. The Hess Road farm of 135 acres was to John Lininger, of this county, at his bid of $120 per acre. the date written in by hand is Aug 10 as the date this appeared in the newspaper. ------------------------------------------ GRANT Gerald William, infant son of Clarence and Gertrude Hartman Grant, died at their home in East Ringgold, Tuesday, of inanition, aged three weeks. The funeral services were held at the home Wednesday afternoon, Rev. G. F. Hughes of the United Brethren church of this city, officiating. Interment was in Reber Hill Cemetery. the date written in by hand is Aug 30 -------------------------------------- MRS. CORA L. DELAY, Died at her residence in Williamsport, Wednesday morning at 1:30 o'clock, of childbirth, aged 43 years. Deceased was the daughter of Andy J. and Ariminta (McGath) Furniss, and was born in Williamsport, Feb 29, 1872. The date written in by hand is Aug. 16 ------------------- Note there is no year listed above. However, these all appear on the same page as one of my family, Edward K. Ebert, husband of Lena K.
