    3. Ruth, I have some information that might be of some help. There was a Rachel ( ca 1785) who married John Jacob Rush (1773-1829). In 1834 this Rachel married William Tallman. Jacob Rush is listed in 1820 census in Amanda twp. and Rachel Rush is listed in the 1830 census. Your Jedediah Allen's father Dr. Silas Allen helped to establish the small town of Royalton were the Allen & Rush families lived. As you can see below, the Rush family was well known to the Allen family: "Amanda: Town & Township ... On Christmas Day, 1815, Dr. Silas Allen and his wife, Mary, sold lot 53 in Royalton to Jacob Rush, John Busby and John Huber, who were the trustees of the Royalton School and meeting house..." p 105 Crossroads and Fence Corners, by Charles R. Lib., Lancaster, Oh 1998) "Jedediah Allen was one of the best know men of Amanda Township...a large part of his estate was bequeathed to the "Ohio Wesleyan University." The late Jacob Beck was his executor....fourth son of Dr. Allen and Mary Cleveland, married Sarah Bull About the year 1803. Their children were Rachel 1809, Howard 1811, Lyman 1813. Rachel became the wife of Thomas Reber and died near Upper Sandusky, OH. Howard married a daughter of John Leist ..his children- John, Jesse & Sarah widow of Henry Reber.
