Deceased was born in Vinton county. He was a married man and leaves a wife and family. Funeral was held this afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment in Forest cemetery. ***** Private Major BRIGGS, a Chillicothe man, has been appointed regimental sergeant major and Corporal Walter HARVEY of Pomeroy has been made sergeant major of the Fourth battalion, both of the Seventh. The men who held these positions during the summer have recently been discharged. ***** In a runaway accident on the Richmondale pike near High Bank in Ross county Monday afternoon Mrs. James VAUSE, her two children and a domestic were badly injured. Mrs. VAUSE and the children were picked up unconscious and the former did not rally until Tuesday afternoon. It is now thought her condition has passed the danger point. The domestic had her leg broken. Mrs. VAUSE has relatives residing in this city and Harrison townships.
