Hi folks, Anyone have Ella Harmon who I found on the 1920 census with Goldie White? Which cemetery most likely if the death certificate says buried in Stoutsville, Ohio? Goldie would be my Aunt. She was listed as a servant on the census and I was hoping some family members had sort of adopted her into the family. I have info about her I am willing to share. She died 1926 and her married name was Goldie White Ward. Tootsie Shoemaker Tomlinson b. and raised in Ohio Michigan

Did Pickaway County have a school census? If so, where would I find them? Virginia took school census in late 1800's, 1875-1900, every five years. This has been a great source of information. Children found who were born and died between the 10 year state and federal census, or children we had record of, but died young with no death date. For the person looking for birth certificates, the Ohio Historical Society says records between 1867 and 1908 were kept by the county probate courts. If you go to http://www.ohiohistory.org/resource/archlib/brthdth1.html you can find the phone number for the Pickaway Co. probate court in Circleville. You might also try the Pickaway Historical Society, which will do searches including court records for $15.

Hello all. I've recently gotten the family tree bug and have been amazed at the sheer volume of online resources available I'm connected to the Winship family of Circleville via my maternal grandmother (Anna Louise Winship Loomis). Dear Listers, I just joined your list for Pickaway Co. and I'm looking forward to sharing information. My line in your county is Burgett. My grandfather, Charlie was born there about 1884 or 85. I have yet to find his birth record. He had a sister Maude who lived with a family as a housekeeper. They never met after they were separated in infancy by their parents' deaths in a buggy accident, they were told. I have been trying to get information because my grand-father never knew his parents names and that has made it difficult. Looking forward to hearing from anyone who can offer information or suggestions to me on how to proceed. Shirley
Good Morning All, Some of you may remember the KEEFER/WORK Bible I purchased at an auction last fall. Well, I vowed to find the people listed in it and it has taken me almost 6 months of continuous work but, I DID IT !!!! There are a couple of missing pieces but, for the most part my work is done. A few blank spots will be filled in as soon as we can track down a grandson and great granddaughter. The Bible now is being sent to it's proper "Home." A relitive who has promised it will be respected, loved and preserved for future generations. I am beginning the story as best I can relate it and it will appear on my website just as soon as I can get all the facts, dates and names written. It may have to be in installments but, I will get it done. Many thanks go out to the people who sent me messages, encouragement and helped in the search. Three of you were a vital part of this saga and my cousin Pete was/is my KEEFER lineage source. MANY THANKS TO ALL OF YOU !!!!! God Bless Kat JstPlnKAT@aol.com
Hoping for some help. There is a marriage of Sarah M. Gibson to Martin L. Lerch 4 Nov 1852 Pickaway, Ohio. In the 1880 Census, Sarah Lerch is listedage 43 along with son Milton age 16 and daughter Bell C. Lerch plus sister Mary J. Gibson. I believe Sarah and Mary are the daughters of Robert and Elizabeth Gibson who were in Harrison Ct. OHIO in 1850 but may well have moved to Pickaway shortly thereafter. No records for them or their children in Harrison Ct. after the 1850 Census. I can not find anything more about Sarah Lerch or her children. Hoping that someone might be able to help. Also, if there is info on early internments, would be interested in whether Robert or Elizabeth Gibson are buried there. Don't have access to the 1860 Census of Pickaway to see whether they are there or the info on Sarah and Martin L. Lerch. Perhaps the name is spelled differently. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Josette Maxwell Boone NC
