    2. June 18 1907 Ross County Register Miss Ruth Williams Miss Ruth Williams, the thirteen year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Williams of North High street, died last night at midnight of diphtheria. This is the second death in the family in two days as the result of the dread malady and another child is seriously ill. The family has the sympathy of the community in its double bereavement. -------------------- June 18 1907, Ross County Register MRS. JOHN HEINLEIN It is with profound regret that the death Mrs. John Heinlein of Portsmouth is chronicled today. A message was received by Chillicothe relatives about 6:30 o'clock Tuesday morning conveying the sad news that her death had occurred early that morning. Her illness had been a serious nature from the first, having been taken with rheumatism abut two months ago and the recent high waters in the River City only tended to aggravate her malady. Other complications arose and about three weeks ago typhoid fever developed. Her condition had been critical from the first but her family and friends had hoped against hope but to no avail. The deceased was 28 years old. She was the daughter of Mrs. Minnie Kellar of High street. She was possessed of musical ability beyond the ordinary and was a very popular soloist during the some popular favor in the River City, having been engaged as a soloist in one of the churches. For a number of years she was the soprano at the St. Peter's catholic church. She removed to Portsmouth about a year ago with her husband. Beside her husband she is survived by her mother, who was at her bedside during her illness and two brothers, Arthur of this city and Henry of Springfield. The remains will be brought to this city Wednesday and funeral arrangements will be deferred until the husband arrives. 2. Chris & Laura Whitaker
    3. Hi fellow list members, I am trying to find out some information on Rebekah PRESTON. My family does not know what happened to her after her husband Ezekiel DAVISON passed away. We think she moved to possibly Perry, Vinton or Pickaway County OH to live with one of her children. The lineage is as follows: Ezekiel DAVISON b. 01 December 1763 Freehold, Monmouth County, NJ d. 01 August 1818 Freehold, Monmouth County, NJ, buried in the Old Tennent Churchyard, Freehold, Monmouth County, NJ m. ca. 1802 NJ to Rebekah (or Rebecca) PRESTON b. ca. 1772-1774 possibly France d. Unknown Their children: Deborah b. 1803, Algernon b. 1804, Susannah b. 1806, Joseph b. 1807, Sophia b. 1809, William b. 1811, Peter Wilson b. 1813. I have more information on Deborah, William and Peter's descendants. Deborah and Peter lived in OH when they reached adulthood. Deborah died in OH, but Peter died in KS. Some of Peter's children remained in OH. We think that Rebekah may have resided with either Deborah or her grandchildren. If anyone out there has some information on Rebekah, her parents or where she may be buried in Ohio, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you, Laura Davison Whitaker

    1. Bryant/Sarah Brown m. 1806?
    2. Michael S. Beckley
    3. Based on an entry at familysearch.org, this couple was married in 1806. The question is "where?" A history of Pickaway County, Ohio suggests that Sarah, the daughter of William Brown had been born in Huntingdon County, Pa. and that the family had come to Pickaway County in late 1806(that being William and family, Samuel his son and family and several sons-in-law). I assume they married earlier in Huntingdon County, Pa, but it could have happened somewhere in between. That previously mentioned Pickaway County history says that most of William's children moved to Hancock County sooner or later. One of the exceptions is " Mrs. B. Brown who moved to the coal fields". I've found deeds in Pickaway County that refer to Brian and Sara Brown referring to land in the same area that Brian Brown is found near in 1820 census(near William Brown his father in law and several brothers-in law). By 1830, Brian is in southwestern Hocking County in Eagle Twp and moved over the years between there and neighboring Jackson Twp(both townships would eventually become part of Vinton County). That region certainly is in or near coal fields. If the couple were indeed married in 1806, I'm hoping to find where. There are no records in Pickaway County, Ohio(not a county until 1810) or Fairfield County to the east. I haven't yet had a chance to check Franklin County to the north[from which the Brown's part of Pickaway County was formed(Walnut Twp)]. I wonder, too, are any records in existence in Huntingdon County, Pa. that might show a marriage there or records to show Brian/Bryant's lineage? Any help in locating records in Franklin County, Ohio or Huntingdon County, Pa. or anyone familiar with Bryant Brown's lineage is appreciated! Please mail to this list or to me at msb@core.com, thanks Mike Beckley.

    1. Lillian Moore
    2. Andy Hamric
    3. Can anyone tell me the maiden name of Lillian Moore, mother of Philip? She was the last Moore to live in Circleville's Moore House, which now houses the Pickaway County Historical Society. Andy Hamric
