Connie, Camp Chase was a Union camp in Columbus, Ohio. It was used to hold Confederate prisoners. It was located what is now known as the "Hilltop." There is a cemetary with the entrance on Sullivant Ave. Every year they hold reenactments also. Michele
Thanks, for the info. My interest comes from a book I have acquired (on loan) from Camp Chase dated between 1863-1865, listing several men that were housed or released from there. These men were from Indiana, Illinois,Ohio,Michigan,Kentucky, Tenn, Pennsylvania. All northern soldiers. My big question is how did such a book end up in an attic in Uniondale, Indiana ( a small town in northern Indiana). Any ideas?
