Reading all these messages about the coal mines peaked my interest. Has anyone ever heard of the Shumaker(or Shoemaker) Brothers coal mines. Not possitive on where they are located but know that my great grandfather was William C. Shumaker who i guess owned them. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Researching: Browder, Echols , Harger, Hastings, Kaiser, Lawrence , Moore, McElroy, Pinkard, Wall, Warner . All from VA & NC. Also: Barron, Bradfield, Cotterman, Enoch, Foreman, Gorslin, Hagle,Helser, Hull, Jones, Krumley, Montgomery, Moyer, Pride, Shoemaker, Shumaker, Turner, Winegardner. From Ohio area.
