    1. [OHPERRY] Ella C. Bradshaw Mechling's Glenford area "lists"
    2. Fred Arn
    3. Dear List: After receiving much help from others on the list, I finally have something that might be of interest to others in their research. I have recently inherited various journals and other notebooks, etc. written by my great-grandmother,whom I never met, Ella C. (Bradshaw) Mechling. Ella (1889-1956) was the youngest of four children of John and Ann Catherine (ICE) Bradshaw, of Hopewell twp, near Glenford, Perry Co. She married Luke B. Mechling in 1909, was a school teacher (I'm guessing Roberts School), piano teacher, and the organist at St. Paul's Lutheran in Glenford for many years. Their only child, Russell B. Mechling is my grandfather. Apparently, Ella was one for lists. The 4"x6" memo book that I plan to transcribe (parts) was written by Ella probably between 1904 and 1910. She has lists states of the union and their admission dates, state capitals, members of President (Teddy) Roosevelt's cabinet, rules for punctuation, poems and other little classics, and some original compositions. Probably of most interest to others would be her lists of fellow students at Glenford High and lists of marriages, births and deaths in her area. I will attempt to transcribe one list at a time, each list covers one year. Here goes the first very short (only 3 items) list: List I "Marriages 1902" [I think she wrote this a few years later] Olive Bradshaw and Lee E. Coble married June 12, 1902 [Ella's sister] G. M. Bradshaw and Erma F. Bowser married Aug 6, '02 [Ella's brother] Theodore Barnet and a Miss Weller were married Jan 14. --- Jennifer Arn in CA -
