    3. Hi everyone, here is my 2 cents addition to the conversation below: Family Search records are subject to the interpretation of the person transcribing them. In my case, my gggm Sarah Jane Crist was listed on the Family Search data base as Sarah J. Crier. The written index was correct. There is another weakness to the data base, it doesn't combine names with 1 letter spellings differences such as Soloman & Solomon (and in my family, these two spellings were used interchangeably).
