I've been researching Noah Hoy, Born in Ohio ~1842, Died in Columbus 1884, Buried in New Straitsville, Perry County, OH, also lived in Hocking County (lived near the border of those 2 counties). Per 1880 census, his father was born in PA, mother in VA. Found on 1850 Perry County census listed as an 8 yr old with a family named (maybe) "Steed". Married Elizabeth Towle from Uniontown, PA. Served in Civil War, Company D, 17th Regiment, OVI.
