Does anyone have any info on the BURKET, STORTS, and NOTESTINE families? The Burkets and Notestines may have lived in Fairfield County as well. Mary Ann Burket married Leonard Notestine around 1818. They had four children when Leonard died in 1829. Does anyone know of his cause of death? Mary Ann (Burket) Notestine then married John Jacob Storts, a widower, in 1830 or so. She was 28--he was 68. They had 5 children. I need to know more about Mary Ann. Who are her parents and where were they from? There are lots of Burkets around, including several families from Somerset County, PA, where the Storts' came from. But I can't find a Mary Ann born in 1802. I have been to New Lexington and the Bear Run Cemetery where John Jacob, Mary Ann, his first wife and several children are buried. Hope to hear from some of you!
