Hello- I am temporarily in the Hebron area and wish to research my family. Are records kept in new Lexington? Does anyone know the hours of their archives? Thank you. Melinda Seyler Researching Edmund, Stevens, Shrider, Rarick, Weimer, Neel, kautermann.
Same hours as the courthouse, 8-4 or possibly 8:30 AM The archives is in a separate building just a down the street a bit closes for lunch 12-1 or they did the last time I was there. And they also closed on Friday--that may have changed. And sometimes I have been in a courthouse when an office closed for lunch! Once in Harrison co in the probate court, they told me they were closing for lunch because one of the clerks was out sick, leaving only the two of them. I thought but didn't say it out loud "why the heck don't you take separate lunches?" Seems to me locals might have business to do on their lunch hours in that court or any. Athens has Perry Co records which were sent there before they opened the old armory for the archives. Or did. Did they send them back? Athens, Ohio University has the regional archives. Your Kauterman is probably my Kattermans/Cottermans/Kadermans--just a guess.
