Jim, I do not know of any "burial" records for the Shawnee Cemetery; however, in 1997 I visited the Shawnee village clerk's office and made a copy of Cemetery Deeds to Lots, Book 1, 1881-1885 which named a John Joseph. This doesn't confirm any interment, but it may be worth noting. Thanks very much, Sue! That John Joseph was my g-grandfather. He undoubtedly bought the lots because of the deaths of his first wife and son in 1885. I assume since this was taken from book 1, there is a book 2 (and beyond?). I would be interested to know if any lots were bought by someone with the surname Joseph in the 1895-1905 period. Jim, It seems to me that there was a Book 2, but it has been so long ago, I can't be sure. Political officials have changed over the years, and I no longer have a connection to this office. I can't comment on their response should you try and contact them directly. If future Cemetery Books / records are located I would gladly copy them if permitted.
