I am researching my PACE and ALLEN lines. My great-grandfather, James K. Polk PACE was born about 1847 in Bearfield Twp., Perry Co., OH. William PACE his father and Nancy ALLEN his mother. The 1850 census for Bearfield Twp., Perry Co. OH lists the following. PACE, William, Age 49, Farmer, Born PA PACE, Elizabeth, age 25 PACE, William, age 18 Laborer, Born OH PACE, Cynthia, age 12 PACE, Clarissa, age 10 PACE, Isaac, age 8 PACE, Thomas, age 6 PACE, James K. Polk, age 3 PACE, George W, age 5 mo. No mention of Nancy here. Looking for clues to her parents, birth place and date also place of death and date. I think it is very possibly Perry Co.
