3. I just wanted to thank everyone for their response to my post. Everyone was real helpful! :) Melissa ----- Original Message ----- From: Leah Raney Sent: Tuesday, June 05, 2001 5:21 PM To: OHPERRY-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [OHPERRY] A "SLIPPER" IN 1910 POTTERY BUSINESS My OLD dictionary defines "slip" as " Potter's clay in liquid state, used in the casting process and for decoration, or as a cement." which doesn't really answer your question. My only knowledge of "slip" is when a slip is applied to American Indian pottery over the baked pot, to provide a background and/or smooth surface on which to apply the design. Maybe there's someone out there who still works in business who could give us a clue. - Leah in Texas Melissa Lee wrote: > Hi, > I was wondering if someone could help me. On the 1910 census, it looks like my ggrandfather worked in the Pottery business as a slipper. Does anyone know what exactly a slipper was? ==== OHPERRY Mailing List ==== Browse the OHPerry list archives at http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/index/ohperry

Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com
