Hi Barbara, First of all, I must apologize for my "machine" acting up and sending you a blank message in response to your query re Saltlick Township Cemeteries. That said, I'll try again. Yes, the Perry County Chapter, Ohio Genealogical Society has published books listing burials in all Perry County Townships except three and we're now working on those with Monroe expected to be the next one released. Books on Bearfield and Pleasant Townships are planned to be released sometime next year. As you may know, the 1850 Perry County Census lists 23 persons name Griffin living in Saltlick Township and one in Thorn Township in 1850. Two in Saltlick Twp were named Henry but they were both much younger than your Henry, with the older one having been born in Pennsylvania in about 1811. The Salt Lick Cemetery Book, prepared in 1989, lists only one Griffin, an infant son of John and Catherine Griffin who died May 10, 1852, and is buried in the Old Stone Church Catholic Cemetery in Salt Lick Township just a little west of Shawnee. There are also three Griffin Family members listed in the New Straitsville Joint Cemetery in adjoining Coal Township, but two are listed only as having been in the military during the Civil War, and include: GRIFFIN, Sylvester Co. A 31 Ohio Inf. GRIFFIN, J. L. Co. B 75 Ohio Infantry GRIFFIN, William B. June 15, 1925 76y 1m 18d Nelsonville, OH There is also one listing in the Interment Records of St Joseph's Rectory in Reading Township: MARTIN, James Hugh, Apr 19 1846 age 6 m. s/o Henry and Catherine GRIFFIN Some other Cemetery Listings include: GRIFFIN, Michael 01 Oct.1888 New Lexington/Maplewood Charity Lot GRIFFIN, Isaac Sept 3, 1898 - Mar. 20, 1966 New Lex./Maplewood Cem. GRIFFIN, Everett E. Aug. 22, 1922 - Nov.2, 1991 " " " " GRIFFIN, Mary Hamrick July 11, 1922 - The Perry County Probate Court Marriage Records also list a number of Griffin marriages, both male and female, from about 1832 to 1914. The Indexes for these records may be reviewed in the PCC-OGS Library in New Lexington. I hope this is somewhat helpful to you. If you would like to delve more deeply into any of theses or other records, I would suggest you visit the PCC-OGS Library in New Lexington which is open nominally six days per week throughout the year and the public is welcome. If you would like more information on the Library, please let me know. Alternately, the PCC-OGS Library offers a limited (one Surname) look-up service for a nominal donation to the Chapter ($10.00). If you are interested in that, just contact our Corresponding Secretary at PCC - OGS PO Box 275 Junction City, OH 43748-0275 Good luck in your search, and if I can be of further assistance, please do not hesitate to let me know.
