Just a refresher course for those who may not know what the purpose of this list is. As with most mailing lists, this list is here and people subscribed to it in order to help one another with their research. That includes a great many things, i.e. history, locations, people, events, about anything you can think of that would pertain to the life of a person. After all, that is what we are researching, the lives of our ancestors. Whether you post queries, surnames, a question, or some snippit of data in case someone else can use the info, you are using the list as it is intended to be used. Roll calls are another great way for researchers to connect with each other and collaborate. Even if no one can connect to your lines *at the moment* your message does get archived and someone may find your message later on and contact you. This is a fact as I have done this myself! Nancy T. can attest to this with the Linville line that I had contacted her about and it had been six months after she had posted the message! So it does happen folks and I'm sure I'm not the only one who does things like that! So the bottom line is this list is to help out researchers. Share information, ask questions, let people know who you are researching! New people join the list often so you never know who will have that missing link you are looking high and low for! For more information on mailing lists, please see RootsWeb's Mailing List FAQ at http://helpdesk.rootsweb.com/help/mail5.html or you may email me privately. So, in spirit of this list, who *are* you looking for? (Psst....SURNAMES in caps and in the subject line will get across to more people!)
