    1. Re: [OHPERRY] GRIFFINs in Harrison, Perry and Hocking countiesOhio

    3. My Henry Griffin was from Pa. Have been trying very hard to get a look up on the 1860 census for Perry Co. The census for 1860 Perry County was not available in New Lexington Genealogy Library. My Grandfather Griffin (Allen) was born in Perry Co. and his parents are buried in the Old Stone Church (Catholic) cemetery in Perry Co. by Old Straitsville. I have a feeling they never left Perry Co. The records for the old church are gone. Very unusual for Catholic records. When I was a little girl we used to go to that cemetery to put flowers on their grave on Memorial Day (this was in the 40's and 50's). I was up there this spring and went right to the spot where we used to put flowers on the grave. They didn't have markers. There was a stone on that plot for infant griffin. Mother and Father were Catherine and John Griffin. The baby died at birth in 1854. My Grandfather was born in 1856. I have such a gut feeling that John's middle name was Henry and that is what he went by. Have nothing to substantiate this though. John was from Pa. also. Maybe someday.
