He married ELIZABETH SCOTT MOORE December 22, 1868 in Perry Co., OH, daughter of JOHN MOORE and SARAH PRYOR. She was born October 23, 1843 in Muskingum Co., OH and died Abt. 1913. Notes for GEORGE W. BROWN: In the 1870 census for Bearfield Twp., Perry Co., OH, George & Elizabeth lived on a farm near her parents, John & Sarah Moore. Her siblings also lived on farms nearby. Children of GEORGE BROWN and ELIZABETH MOORE are: i. JOHN JAMES BROWN b. May 1870, Perry Co., OH. ii. SARAH EVA BROWN, b. August 16, 1871, OH. 2. iii. WILLIAM PRESTON BROWN, b. October 23, 1873, Perry Co., OH; d. February 10, 1943, Millfield , Athens Co., OH. He married EMMA MAE COLBORN June 07, 1893 in New Lexington, Pike Twp., Perry Co., OH, daughter of CHRISTOPHER COLBORN and HARRIET SHANER. She was born June 28, 1876 in New Lexington, Pike Twp., Perry Co., OH, and died November 08, 1962 in Millfield , Athens Co., OH. iv. LYDIA LOU BROWN b. August 18, 1877, Brown Run (?), OH d. September 15, 1927, Roseville, Muskingum Co., OH; m. WILLIAM L. IHINGER; b. June 22, 1870, Clay Twp., Muskingum Co., OH; d. February 01, 1948, Clay Twp., Muskingum Co., OH. I have been told that George W. Brown's parents were Elizabeth Pearce & George William Brown, but I have not been able to verify that - I do know that a George William Brown & Elizabeth Pearce were married in Perry Co, OH. Also, the birth date on George is also questionable - it was definitely ABOUT 1845. I would be happy to exchange info with anyone & would certainly welcome any assistance!
