What happens when you open this virus? I recieved it in response to a query that I had put out, before all the warnings were out there. I clicked the attachment and it downloaded, and when I went to open the file after downloading, my computer said that it wasn't a valid file and it couldn't be opened. I deleted it all right away, even out of the recyling bin, but would I know if I have the virus? I ran a virus scan on my computer, but it didn't find anything. I'm not sure if I did the scan right or not, though. I had it look through the whole computer...should I have just looked for a file? Would I know if I have this virus? Thanks! Lisa
YOU DO HAVE THE VIRUS!!!! If you attempted to open the attachment you got the virus whether something opened up or not. It doesn't always kick in until you reboot your computer. Run the fix from http://bootheel.tucows.com/files4/fixmtx.exe right away and DO NOT SHUT OFF YOUR COMPUTER until the fix has been done. ----- Original Message ----- From: <Hoffman793@aol.com> To: <OHPERRY-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, May 03, 2001 8:42 AM Subject: Re: [OHPerry] Virus > What happens when you open this virus?
