    2. To the list. In tonight mail there were 3 messages in reply to messages I had sent. All three were from the same sender and all 3 contained the tell tale identification of a virus. The sender was listed as: grayston@comteck.com (Paul Thomas) The tell tale identification is a line added after the message that the reply is to and the line reads: "Take a look to the attachment" Should you receive a message with this line delete it immediately and under no circumstances open it. The virus sends replies to the messages that you receive and add the tell tale line and the attachment which contains the virus. Jerry Dittman Boonsboro, MD

    3. Yes, my hand slipped and I opened the attachment, not meaning to do so. Mcaffee did NOT stop it from running, which irritated me a lot. The cleanup is pretty easy. I used the instructions on Symantec.com. If you get it, do a search for the w32.badtrans@mm virus. A pain in the neck but generally harmless, except for the part where your e-mail goes crazy. sharon Sharon Burton-Hardin Anthrobytes Consulting 909-369-8590 www.anthrobytes.com Vice-president, Programs of the Inland Empire chapter of the STC www.iestc.org ----- Original Message ----- From: <DittDad@aol.com> To: <OHPERRY-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, 02 May, 2001 4:11 PM Subject: [OHPerry] Virus | To the list. | | In tonight mail there were 3 messages in reply to messages | I had sent. 2. While my printer is printing out the list of emigrants, a few of which are related surnames, I thought that I would send this site find to the list so that others searching for ancestors from that area of Germany may check for the appearance of a possible ancestor. One name on the list that I am familiar with is KRESS, there are a number of them from various towns that are listed. Of you are looking for ancestors from Hessen, Germany check out this site. <http://hometown.aol.com/foster1937/page1.html> Jerry Dittman Boonsboro, MD.

    1. [OHPerry] Bowdler, Bodlow, Baudler, Bigrigg, Bigrig
    2. Does someone have an 1870 census that might do a lookup for me, for Perry County Ohio? I have portion of the 1880 census for Perry County Ohio, there is a William Bodlow as a boarder, living with John Bigrigg. I also have a copy (not a good one) of intention to become a citizen of the united states the document is from the probate court in Perry County Ohio dated march 1873 for a Thomas Bowdler. Does someone know how I can get a new copy of the intention to become a citizen and maybe one where he became a citizen if there is one. Thank you, Donna in Mi. DMBoshell@aol.com

    1. [OHPerry] Re: OHPERRY-PETTY Family
    2. I will try once more to get a message posted. Rootsweb keeps sending my messages back for this forum only. I can post on the others to which I belong. I have changed nothing but they insist that I have "things" that not everyone can read. I contacted them and tried to find what they were talking about but never achieved anything. I'll try again. Joseph PETTY, b. 1765 supposedly in NJ. I have posted pictures on the Perry Co. site of PETTY family allied lines of those we cannot identify. They could be PURVIS, FOLK, ELDER, COLEMAN, VANATTA, MIDDAGH, STINE, or any other group of people who married into the PETTY line. If you have any connections w/ these lines, please contact me. I dare not post the website or it is in a format that gets sent back so I will give it to you via email if you contact me. Joseph's wife was Elizabeth. Ch. Moses, John, Margaret (Stine), Mary Ann (VANATTA, ANGLE, LEHMAN). Elizabeth (PEPPLE), Jemima (VANATTA), Aaron, Joseph who married E. CLOVER, Jacob (my line who married Amelia BARNEs), and another daughter whose name escapes me right now. She went to Lawrence CO., ILL as did Moses, Elizabeth, Joseph, Margaret for a while. Some of these photos were taken in Ill. so they could be allied families from there. I suspect that they are primarily the family of Josiah PETTY who married Harriet COLEMAN because I have identified my grandfather, Jacob COLEMAN PETTY, their son, and two of his brothers. The album was assembled by the daughter of Wm. H. PETTY who remained in Perry CO and owned a shoe store in Lancaster as did his son Freed. Wm. took his own life as did his son later because he had lost his son in an accident. Wm. it was presumed was depressed because of the depression but I am not certain of that. Wm married Minnesota ELDER so their other children could be in this album. However, she must have collected pictures of cousins in Ill. also. HELP! Marjory PETTY Austen

Did Reuben have a sister Mary who was living in Hopewell in 1840 but had remarried and moved to Licking Co by 1850? Any help with these Leonards would be greatly appreciated! Sandy

    3. HI Carole, Vital Statistics Office in Lancaster, Ohio keeps obits back about 10 years for Fairfield County. A lot of Logan people have their loved ones obits put in the Eagle Gazette. I stopped in their office last week and checked for Ethel's obit. No luck. I should be going to Athens sometime this month so I'll check at the Library there. They have their obits indexed so that should help in finding her's. Do you which cemetery she was buried? I will keep at this until I find it. Logan Daily still doesn't have a bulb for their machine. And, I've asked about her son and nobody knows him that I know. Sherole ps. Cecil Beery is a neighbor of mine. Any connection?
