Don't know that I would be much help. With the kind help of a list member, I was able to locate Levi Brown, son of Peter Brown. Levi was first married to Maria Crist/Christ in Fairfield co, OH and lived in Pickaway co. After Maria died, Levi then moved to Perry co and married there. I have since found death certificates and obits for the children of Maria. Maria was the granddaughter of Simon Crist and Elisabeth BROWN from PA. Elizabeth, Simon and her two brothers John and Peter came to Ohio. Peter Brown was in Canal Winchester Franklin co, and since Levi was born there, I am reasonably sure that Peter is Elizabeth's brother. I have a file on John Brown - bios etc - in Perry co, thinking he might be the other brother. So far nothing to connect them. I do know Elizabeth's father who was in Berks/Schulkill cos, then moved to Union co PA. That's about as much as I know. My GG-Grand Parley Brown b.1816 OH. Parents & siblings unkn, possibly Parley/Perly & Rachael ? probably Washington Co. In 1839 he married Celesta Wilson (Waterford Twp, Washington Co in 1850 census) they had 5 children before she died in 1854. In 1855 he married Eliza Jane Nixon (parents William & __Irwin b.Ireland), their dau Lizzie Celestia Brown was born 1860 in Zannesville, Musk Co. They moved to Vernon Co, WI before 1870. Lizzie married my G-Grand Benjamin Franklin Norris (b1848 Monroe twp, Perry Co) in 1876 whose family had moved North from Perry Co in 1854. Any possible connects? Tony

Lorna, Drive time from Logan to New Lexington is about 30 minutes via SR 93 - if you stay inside the speed limits (and you should because on many of those curves you might otherwise end up in the ditch). Daine.

Lorna, This isn't Jim but its about 45 minutes from Logan to New Lex. I live in Logan. The road is 2 lane and curvy unless you know some of the shortcuts. ha We have one good motel here and 2 not so good and the resturant on Main St. is closed. Hi, I was just there about 2 weeks ago. They are great, you can get births and deaths at the Health Department, for $.25 each, they are in books and indexed by surname starting in 1908-now. The court house ladies are just as nice, marriages are $.75 each page. As far as lodging, you might consider Zanesville, there is only one hotel in Perry Co., and from what everyone tells me, it isn't worth staying there. Have fun, Kyle
