    2. I have a JOHN WILSON, b. 1796 in PA, who m. Esther Ralston (?) before 1824 and was listed in the Perry Co., Hopewell Twp. census in 1830, 1840 and 1850. They had the following children, most born in OH: Charles, Rebecca, Esther, Josiah, David, Uriah, Mary and Rachel. John and most of his children moved to Van Buren Co., IA in 1850 or so. Esther married Hiram Danison and remained in Perry Co. John's son JOSIAH RALSTON WILSON, b. 1828, is my direct ancestor. I wonder if my Josiah and your Josiah could have been named after the same relative? It is possible that John Wilson came from Washington Co., PA. Do you think there could be a connection between our two families? Suzanne Krogh

Kramer & Margaret White, Coal Tp. Ann A. b.03 Nov 1905 to " " " " " , Coal Tp. John b.14 Jan 1875 to John Kramer & Elizabeth Hork, Coal Twp. Kramer, Ruth b. 23 Jan 1915 to John P. Kramer & Margaret White, Coal Twp Evelyn E. b. 8 Feb 1917 to " " " " " " " The Probate Court Records also list the following marriage: Kramer, John P. to Margaret White in 1902 in Perry County. Note that the Every Name Index for the 1900 Perry County Census lists a John P. Kremer and Eva C. Kremer as living in Coal Twp. (pg 037B). It also lists Frank and Lucy. I suspect the spelling Kremer results from either a reading or a typing error. Also, the Book listing Burials in Coal Township Cemeteries includes: KRAMER, John Peter Sr. Sept 7, 1839 - June 28, 1895 Eva Christine April 15, 1853 - Feb. 28, 1919 Susan Catherine July 25, 1874 - Oct. 2, 1899 All of these books are in print and are available to use or purchase in the Perry County Chapter - Ohio Genealogical Library in New Lexington. My great-grandfather, James K. Polk PACE was born Sept. 26, 1847 in Bearfield Twp., Perry Co., OH. William PACE his father and Nancy ALLEN his mother. 1850 census for Bearfield Twp., Perry Co. OH lists: PACE, William, Age 49, Farmer, Born PA PACE, Elizabeth, age 25 PACE, William, age 18 Laborer, Born OH PACE, Cynthia, age 12 PACE, Clarissa, age 10 PACE, Isaac, age 8 PACE, Thomas, age 6 PACE, James K. Polk, age 3 PACE, George W, age 5 mo. William PACE & Nancy ALLEN were married in Licking Co., OH on January 10, 1828. Nancy was born abt. 1805. William PACE married Elizabeth HALL on February 15, 1849. They had another child, Margaret Anna in 1851. I know very little about Nancy ALLEN. She obviously died before 1850 as Elizabeth is listed in William's household then. Nancy would have been the mother of the children born before George W. In doing some research at the Gen. Room at the library in New Lexington, I found that the PACE and ALLEN names were connected frequently in Perry & surrounding counties. The ALLEN name is still carried in my family. My grandfather and my brother's middle names are ALLEN. I have not been able to discover who Nancy ALLEN's parents are. 1. [OHPERRY] 1870 Census lookup
    2. HI. Was there an 1870 census in Ohio? I'm looking for Charles L. Carrigan (may have been spelled Caragan). He would have only been one year old at that time. I'm trying to find out his parents names. I know his mother's name was Ellen. I'm told his father was Patrick or James (maybe even Patrick James). Charles' obituary lists his father as James Carrigan, but I have him somewhere else as Patrick. Would appreciate any help on this if someone could do a census lookup for me. Thank You Caren Detgen (cdetgen@aol.com)

    3. Here's a big surprise for you, my grandmother told me where the PACE homestead is and I know the current generation that lived there was a PACE who married a LANE and who owns it now is her brother E. Pace! I can give you his address and phone if you email me privately. I can direct you there too. Just a note that may interest you, in the Porterville History written by Burrell Pettit, there is mention of a Edgar ALLEN living in Portersville, Bearfield Twp, Perry Co., If you are interested in a copy, search for it in the Perry Co Genealogical Collection in the Perry Co Library or you can become a member and request the back issue that the series was published in. It is a very informative history. I'd suggest it if you are researching in Bearfield Twp. In the 1850 Census, I found this interesting note. Maybe a lead? Margaret PACE age 60 Head of House, with Jacob PACE, age 27; Elizabeth age 16; and Nancy LINIBURY age 40. These are found in Jackson Twp. Pg. 129. Same page, there is also a Nancy J PACE age 33 as HOH with children, John, Ann, Elizabeth & Joseph F. No husband in the house. Same page, Joseph PACE, age 34 is listed as living as a laborer with Benjamin VAN GELZER and Margaret FOUNTAIN. Smiles Tree __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
