I am researching the family of Joseph Ayers (b. 1849) who married Frederica Paul. They had two sons Harvey and Jules. Please contact me. Thank you, Marcia Behrens
Hi everyone. I'm trying to find any birth records for Charles Lisamore Carrigan. He was born Dec. 9, 1869 in either Perry or Athens county. His name may have been spelled with a "K" or Caragan. His fathers name was James or Patrick and his mothers name was Ellen. I don't know her maiden name. Charles died March 22. 1952 and is buried in Dew Cemetary with his wife Eliza. I'm trying to find out more on his parents. Would cemetary records tell who they were? If so, I need to know who keeps the records for Dew Cemetary and how to get hold of them. Please e-mail me at cdetgen@aol.com with any information. Thank you all Caren Detgen
OK, I figured some relationship or other. My Skinners come in with my 3rd great grandmother Rachel Skinner b. 1781 in PA probably Lower Turkeyfoot (if you have some evidence??) she married Nathaniel Rush in 1799 (without looking I don't know if I have actual evidence of this or just information received), Her parents are Samuel Skinner and Mary Drake. Nathaniel died in 1820 and some years later in 1831 Rachel Skinner Rush married Richard Skinner. This did not turn out happily. Do not know the details. I heard there was a divorce. Has anyone looked this up? Have not worked on this Richard Skinner. There were no children that I have ever heard of. Rachel would have been 50 in 1831. Was Richard also from Lower Turkeyfoot? Who did he marry? Children? His parents? Barbara, I'd love to answer your question but I can't! :) All I know of Mary is that she was born in Ohio around 1817. I have gotten some replies back about a Mary Skinner who married a John Dishon, but *that* Mary was born in Indiana. We haven't sorted out what's what yet. -Stacy ----- Original Message ----- From: "Barbara & George Grenier" <grenier@earthlink.net> To: <OHPERRY-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, September 21, 2001 11:11 AM Subject: Re: [OHPERRY] Dishon & Skinner > Hi > > Been reading this exchange. I am searching for information on Wilson Brown who married a Cavinee. He is the son of Levi Brown and Mariah CHRIST. Levi later married a Cavinee, and Wilson married her sister. Have had much help from this list on this family and I really appreciate it. I suspect Wilson may have been married previously, but have not proven that. Any help on Wilson, Franklin Brown, his brother, and their sister Minerva Decker would be very appreciated. Margaret Crist Calvin
Yes, I've got her! ;-) She was the daughter of John and Jemima (Kennard) Smith....the granddaughter of Andrew Smith who was an Entryman in Fairfield County....arriving there about 1705. (Remember - that line between Fairfield and Perry changed!) He was a Rev.War veteran from the Mohawk Valley of New York....seeing action at Bunker Hill and other famous battles. I've been trying to find more about him in Fairfield for years! I know more about her parents....even where they are buried. She had 9 or 10 bros/sisters etc.I know bits and pieces about most of them. (I am descended from her brother Aaron Smith who went west for gold and never came back!) (all this from memory.....of course! Precise info after I dig out the Smith chapter!) I have just tons of stuff on the Smiths.......but how much do you WANT!! I know that she and William moved to Jackson Twp. Allen Co.and the 1850 census reports they had a houseful of kids and $3000 of assets! Pretty GOOD for 1850!! What do YOU know about Sarah and her family?? Guess we've got lots to share! Where to start! Hi Byron; Good to hear from you. Thank you for the dates on Mary - I haven't gotten to her for in-depth research yet. I would love any information you have on her parents, birthplace, etc. John Dishon was born around 1820 in Pennsylvania. I don't have a death date on him yet. They appear together in the Perry Co 1850 Census in Saltlick Township. I don't know John's father's name, but his mother was Catherine Kessler. I've attached a short report on her to this email. It's in MS Word format. Let me know if you can read it - I would have made it RTF, but I'm having some issues with my genealogy software. :) If you would like, I can also send you a family group sheet for John and Mary's family, or whatever else you would like. Lillian AYERS was born in Ripen, England, on 3 Feb 1882. Her parents were William and Mary Jane (HOGG) AYERS. Does anything sound familiar? The "HARE" comes from the local interpretation of her accent, I believe. I notice that you are researching JOHNSONs in the county. What Johnson line are you researching? I look forward to hearing from you. -Stacy ----- Original Message ----- From: "Byron" <byron@voyager.net> To: <OHPERRY-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, September 21, 2001 8:31 AM Subject: RE: [OHPERRY] Surnames: Mary Skinner > Mary Skinner was born October 19, 1816, died December 04, 1889, in Perry > County, Ohio.
