Hi Ruth...All this interest in my last name..wow. Yes there was a Bessie Garey, I think she's my husbands grandmother. My husband's dad was Leroy "Roy" and died about 23 years ago. My husband's mom is working on the Garey side, so I send her all the great queries that come my way. I've forwarded your message to her and I hope she contacts you. Anyone else interested in the Garey, Wilson, Evans, Glass families? I'd be happy to forward. Thanks all.. Hi all and Happy Holidays: This is sort of a resend but with additions. I am interested in this couple. After I sent this the first time, I did some looking around for the Pepper name in Perry and Hocking and basically found nothing. There are no Peppers on the Perry Co marriage index or death index. There are some PEPPLEs but through 1900 no Peppers. Are there any Peppers on the Hocking marriage index? Are there any Peppers on the Hocking 1850 census index? There are none in Perry Co. LANNING, Asa married PEPPER, Catherine 28 Aug 1850 Hocking Who is she? Is it really Pepper or a bad abstract? Her parents? thanks for any help Barbara Brea CA
Hi all and Happy Holidays: Wasn't going to do any genealogy for a few days but something just came to my attention and before I forget LANNING, Asa married PEPPER, Catherine 28 Aug 1850 Hocking Who is she? Is it really Pepper or a bad abstract? Her parents? Barbara Brea CA
have a great day-------nana I have written one other time but may not have done it right. I am interested in anything about the Charles and Dora Ellen[ Johnson] Webb family. Dora was married to a Donley before the Webb I believe she had 6 or 7 children by the Donley and only one by the Webb. some of the children were Lou Donley once sheriff of New Straitsville, Murtle[ Owen] Wallace, May[Nelson] Morgan, Dora Helen Sayre-Wilson and maybe two others. I would love some info or where to get started Happy Holidays-----Peg Barber--nana@ohiohills.com
Hello List, I'm back on the list after a years absence and want to re-list my query names. My great grandfather lived in Hemlock and is buried in the Springer cemetary. I'm still looking for bits of information. The family that lives in Congo, John Almashy, and I have been in contact with each other. I'm trying to tie him into the family now. All of the Almashys that lived in Perry county were related as I've come to find during my research. I'd also like to mention the descendants of Peter Titko are related. I haven't had alot of contact with them. Anyone that is familiar with them, please e-mail me a note. I'd like to know if anyone has seen Almashy or Allmashy names in any of the other cemetaries around Perry Co. I'd like to look for them next summer as I visit the area. I'm still without the death certificate of my greatgrandfather Andrew Almashy(b.1859-d.1929). So far no luck at the Lexington Courthouse. Maybe they lost it or never had one made for him. State Historical Society online list does not have him either. The Almashy name has been traced to Hungary and I've found it was originally spelled Almasi. Thanks for any response! Dan Almashy: ....researching Almashy, Allmashy, Titko.
Here is a tribute site on CNN's web page that lists everyone who died in the September 11th attacks, with photos, names, ages, employers, etc. A useful tool for a genealogist and a wonderful tribute for an American! http://www.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2001/memorial/lists/by-name/index.html Chriss Lyon St. Joseph, MI
Sarah Jane Dugan married William Boal(misspelled Bowles) in 1850. I'm trying to ascertain who her parents were. Does anyone know the complete list of children from the union of Hugh Dugan and Jane West. They were in Perry County census by 1860 and in Muskingum County prior to that in 1840 and 1850 censuses. I've seen a posting on Genealogy.com listing the children of James and Isabella Dugan as seven children and that list doesn't include Sarah Jane. Please e-mail me at msb@core.com, thanks, Mike
Your messages are interesting but since I have only one family (Dew's) in Perry county I would rather come down sometime again and do my research. Thanks. I appreciate att the work that you do. I am librarian and editor at Brown County Genealogical Society. If you ever need information from here please e-mail and I will look up the information for you. Anne Kenney

I have a Minnesota ELDER married to Wm H. PETTY as one of my allied lines. While she is no relation to me, I am curious about her ancestry. Do you know anything about the ELDER family of Reading TP? Her husband started the Telephone Co. in Perry Co. Marjory PETTY Austen
Hi Helen, What part of Perry County did Owen J. Clark live in? And what time period? Cathy
I have an Owen J. Clark in my Elder line that I can not figure who or where he belongs. Helen
My James Clarks are too old. However, James R Clark who was born in 1843 had my g-grandfather Walter A in 1874. I always thought Walter A should have had siblings and that James R would have named one of his son's after himself. There were a lot of Clarks in Perry County when I lived there 1950-1966, but we were not related to the ones I knew except for my Uncle Walter Neil Clark. If there was any connection between your James Clark and my Clark family line, it would make smile BECAUSE it turns out I was related in two different ways to my ex-husband Franklin Lee Garey, (F) Jesse J Garey. I guess I shouldn't have been surprised since we both came from the same small town. Would love to find more Clarks that I was related to. Cathy Clark Garey
Two very kind people have directed me to the location of Clayton Twp. in Perry Co., OH. I'm sure I will find the people I'm looking for. It was just one of those situations where I could have found them myself, but likely I'd still be looking - line by line, page by page. Thanks to all who wrote. Lori
Hi, thanks for writing. I was just hoping someone would have ran across it and could tell me which ED it was in. Ancestry does not have them all listed. I'm sure it's there, but I don't know which section. Hi, Cannot answer directly about Clayton Twp. but Family Tree Maker does have the 1900 census on line and it is indexed by name. It is a subscription database however, but can be obtained on a monthly basis. Hope this helps you. Muriel
I would also like to know about the Perry County news letter. I would also like to get on the mailing list. Thank you, Donna
