I've recently suspected that my elusive Brown family from Muskingum Co., OH, moved to Perry Co. I am interested in contacting anyone with information on the following family. 1850 Census, Bearfield Twp., Perry Co., OH 207/207 John Brown age 48, b. Me, Shoemaker Mary A. Brown age 36, b. OH David T. Brown age 14, b. OH Wm R. Brown age 9, b. OH Augusta G. Brown age 7, b. OH Joseph D. Brown age 6, b. OH Mary E. Brown age 4, b. OH Lucy P. Brown age 2, b. OH Cyrus Green age 25, b. (Perry Co?) daughter of David James and Nancy Green. Mary Ann had a first cousin named Cyrus Green who would have been about 25 in 1850. In 1880 I found: 1880 Census, Oakfield, Perry Co., OH (LDS Family Search) Jesse Smith age 61 OH, VA, VA Martha H. Smith age 25, OH, ME, OH wife Stanley T. Smith age 5, OH, OH, OH, son Eldridge B. Do court records in Perry County go back to before 1821? My gggf's father died then, leaving his family "without patrimony". It seems likely that there might have been some sort of guardianship or probate record for the family. There would have been at least two minor children, possibly more, at the time.
