Thanks for the Information, This explains why some sources "say" that John Bartley OWENS (from my Owens family) started Roseville Pottery. It seems he started a pottery business that was taken over by Roseville Pottery. I knew there was a J.B. Owens pottery line, but wasn't clear on the connection with Roseville Pottery. I appreciate the information, Kathy ----- Original Message ----- From: <MLS155@aol.com> To: <OHPERRY-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, April 01, 2002 12:03 PM Subject: [OHPERRY] Re: OHPERRY-D Digest V02 #64 roseville pottery > > In a message dated 3/30/02 11:01:33 PM, OHPERRY-D-request@rootsweb.com writes: > > <<What is your source for George F. Thanks for the history of this well known Pottery. The submission from "MLS155" was excellent. Also it added to my Brown history, "Thomas Brown, treasurer". Records show the land the factory was built being owned by G.W. (Washington) Brown, father of Thomas. Is this the site currently housing the Hartstone Pottery in Zanesville? Carole Williams

The Roseville Pottery had a plant in Zanesville & Roseville. Carole
My husband was born and raised in Zanesville, OH and he tells me the Roseville Pottery was in Roseville, OH (his mother worked there). The Weller Pottery was in Zanesville. Hope this helps. Shirley

Seeking any information on EIS, ICE or ISE families, especially in the Hopewell Twp area. I believe them to be descendents of Jean (John) and Anna Elizabeth (GREFF) EIS from Alsace-Lorraine, FR. In the 1840 census living with John and Elizabeth in Licking Co are 2 males, age 15 to 20, and 2 males, age 20-30. There are also 2 females, age 15-20, and 2 females, age 20-30. The only confirmed child is Catherine EIS b 14 Feb 1807. She was married before emigration so one of the older males is likely her husband, Joseph RUSLER, b ca 1805. Possibilities are: Joseph ICE m Susannah DEFFENBAUGH Adam ICE m Catherine COOPERIDER John ICE m Harriet PLANCK I do have information on the family in France that I would love to share with descendents! Sandy
Hi, All: Hobert Klingler is the son of Audrey King Klingler and Melvin Klinger and is I believe the oldest son, followed by Lauren, Janet, and Karen. Melvin Klinger was the son of John and Harriet "Hat" Spitzer Klingler and Melvin was my grandmother Brehm's first cousin. My grandmother was Ruth Spitzer Brehm and her parents were Minnie Viola Steen and Cyrus Reasoner Spitzer. When I was a young girl under the age of 6 yrs. we lived just up the road from Audrey and Janet & Karen (about 1953-54). We all attended Mt. Zion UB Church in Junction City. That's all the info. I have. Thanks. Ruth Ann Brehm Rutherford
Sorry, but neither of us know her. They are listed in the phone book and live about 10-12 miles from us but we have never crossed paths. -----Original Message----- From: Jmechls@aol.com <Jmechls@aol.com> To: OHPERRY-L@rootsweb.com <OHPERRY-L@rootsweb.com> Date: Sunday, March 24, 2002 9:13 AM Subject: [OHPERRY] klingler >My aunts name is Ruth She is 64, and her husbands name is Hobert Klingler. >Ruths maiden name was Turner. > >Researching: Browder, Echols , Harger, Hastings, Kaiser, Lawrence , Moore, >McElroy, Pinkard, Wall, Warner . Good morning everyone, I really appreciate the help I receive from this list_serv. Does anyone out there know what Church(es) in Perry Co. were these Ministers of the Gospel associated? And, are the records still available? I am looking for marriage, baptismal, and death records of my ancestors. 1. Charles Hinkle 1833-Married George Daniel and Elizabeth Smith 1835-Married Joseph Boyer & Francis Snider 2. ____ Henyman (?? Poor copy and hard to read.) 1861-Married Jacob Daniel & Sophronia Dorris 3. C. M. Hoyman 1870-Married Solomon Boyer/Beyer & Sarah Jane Crist 4. W. W. Trout 1897-Married Harlan M. Beyer & Elsie Swinehart I know very little about Francis Snider and Joseph Boyer. If someone has them in their ancestry, I would be interested in exchanging information. After Joseph died, Francis Boyer married Peter Drum in 1852, and they had at least one child together, Daniel. Thank you in advance, Sheila Beyer Thomas ________________________________________________________________ CPAs . . . Making Sense of a Changing and Complex World.

Hello from Washington D.C. (well, actually the Virginia suburbs of DC) -- My apologies for the delayed response to your note; I normally get online a couple of times a week but it's been probably 2-3 weeks since I've had the chance to check e-mail and such. If you / your family are descended from Jacob Mechling, then I expect that we are distant cousins. My family line goes back to William Mechling; William and your Jacob had the same grandfather (they were cousins). Also, William's first wife was Jacob's daughter Hester (also spelled Esther, or Easter), Hannah's sister. my family line comes from William & his second wife. I'm not familiar with any of the Cooperrider families, other than recognizing the name as being quite common in the northwestern part of Perry County and knowing that many families intermarried. Are you familiar with the Mechling Historical Association? I believe they now have a website that includes a good deal of information on the various family lines of the Mechling family. I don't know what the website address is, but you can likely find it by searching for "Mechling Historical Association" or "Theobald Mechling" -- Theobald is the grandfather of Jacob and William, and is one of two Mechlings that arrived in America back in the early 1700's. If by chance you're interested in more information on my Mechling line, just let me know; I'll gladly share information I have. Hi, Mary, I gave your message to George and Sandy Owen this morning. Sandy asked if I had your address so I told her I would try to get it for her. She would like to make contact with you again. Better still, I will give your their e-mail address and you can contact them that way. willy@netpluscom.com This is much quicker than snailmail and a lot more fun. Good luck with your visit.
