    2. Jim and Lois Quinn
    3. Marcia Hurtt: On my old Ohio map I find a Dialton, OH. It is also on the Ohio map in the Atlas, but not listed in the index. This could be the town you are looking for. Perhaps a misspelling in the obit - an "e" instead of an "i". It is located east of Troy on some road off of St. Rd. 235. Near Christiansburg and Thackery. Hope this helps. Lois

Would anyone have any idea on where Dealton was? Or any towns you know of that this could be a misspelling of? Thank you, Marcia Hurtt

You would have two sitting rooms, kitchen and dining area. 740-394-1184. You are not staying in a private home - completely private decorated in Victorian Period Sherole Angela Kneller wrote: > ----- Original Message ----- > From: Deloris Bringardner Girard > To: OHPERRY-L@rootsweb.com > Sent: Tuesday, July 02, 2002 11:14 AM > Subject: {not a subscriber} Motel? > > Greetings, > > Does anyone have the names of local Motels in the Somerset or New Lexington area? > > Deloris > > ==== OHPERRY Mailing List ==== > *** Perry County, Ohio Resources: *** > Perry Co. 2. Hello- I am a descendant of Henry Edmund (1811-1888) and Sarah Neel (1816-1893) , who lived on (now) State Route 204, one mile east of Thornville, later Leslie Love and Clara (Edmund) Love's farm, then Lucille Love, now Leslie Dill's. I can find no antecedents for Henry Edmund, despite years of searching. Does anyone know of any relations to this man? He supposedly came to Ohio with his mother and brother around 1829. Is it possible that the others spelled their name differently? I am in Harbor Hills for a week or two, clearing out our grandparents' (Walter & Rose Edmund) home and will likely not return to the area as I will no longer have a place to stay. Therefore I am VERY eager to make some serious dents in my brick wall with henry. Can anyone help? Melinda Seyler Please write to Mseyler155@aol.com

    3. I found the following in the Perry County Weekly of March 5, 1862, page 2. I hope it helps someone. Lawson Teal died Thursday February 27, 1862 at Rehoboth, Perry County after a protracted illness. Lawson Teal esq. was 72 years of age. He was born in Westmoreland County, PA and emigrated to Ohio when he was about 25 years of age. He has resided in Perry County since that time. The obituary goes on to describe his character and church affiliation. No family members are mentioned. Jim Neal

    3. I have an old Ohio map and it shows Gore, OH on it. Take 93 northeast out of Logan, the road curves to the east toward New Straitsville. Between Logan and New Straitsville you will find Gore and Oreville. I am hanging on to this Ohio map as I have found other places shown that are not on the present Ohio maps. Don't know why they were left off of the new maps. Seems kind of senseless to me. Lois

    3. Gore is a small village on SR 93 in Gore Twp, Hocking County. There is not much there now except a few houses. It is only about a mile south of the Perry-Hocking County line. It does not show on State maps but does on county maps. 1. [OHPERRY] Researchers of LOVE/ Variations Surname
    2. I have come across a book titled: "The LOVES" Their Roots and Migration By: Richard Wesley Love 23116 Vermont Avenue Torrence, CA 90502 The author has done research in Scotland. This book is not a genealogical record, but rather a collection of historical data beginning in the 11th century. The surname variations that the author has listed are: LOVE, LUIVE, LOUE, LeLOVE, LUF, LUIFE, LUVEL, LeLU, LUPELLUS, LUIFF, LeLOU, LOVELL, LUIF, LUFE, LWIFFE, LUVE, LUELL, LUPUS, LUYFF, LOVEL, LOV. The Subject Headings are: Normandy (where the history begins) English Records LOVES and LOVELS in Scotland Name in Scotland becomes LOVE The LOVES of Treipwood How the LOVES Came to Argylshire The LOVES become McKINVENS The McKINVENS in Canada Become LOVES The LOVES in Northern Ireland Coats of Arms Banns and Irregular Marriages Birth and Marriage Records Scot Naming Patterns Unfinished Business LOVES of Basing Park (a Tree) LOVES of Treipwood (a Tree) LOVES of Glasgow (a Tree) County Code Designations Proximity of Scot Counties to Ireland (Map) Sending Scottish Counties (a Map) Definitions Coat of Arms - LOVE Coat of Arms - LOVE-LeLOU Old Parish Records The last is the most important part of the book and makes it worth whatever price the author is asking for the book. This section list 4,371 family names with sex, parents name including spouses maiden name, type of record, dates, marriage date and other name. I have no interest in this book and am providing the foregoing for the information of the researchers of the LOVE surname. This book was published this year. The author is not computer literate and any contact with him must be done by snail mail, and as he is a senior citizen it may take time to get a reply. Jerry Dittman Boonsboro, MD.

What I mean by that is if the person's last name appears on the certificate and index as JOHNSON, but the person's name was actually JOHNSTON, the index is correct in this case (even though the certificate is wrong). What they *will* change is if the index is incorrect. Using our example above, if the certificate reads JOHNSON, but the index reads JOHNSTON, they will change the index to reflect what is actually on the certificate.
