Sheila I was at the Hagerstown library yesterday and took a look at the RIDENOUR family history that is there. It contained the following on the LEFFLER/RIDENHOUR connection: RIDENOUR, Jacob Son of Lewis and Rosina PFLUEGER RIDENOUR Married Magdalene LEFFLER Children: Mary, Catherine, Elizabeth, Magdalene, Dena, Julia, Barbara, Daniel, Michael and David. No dates or other information was given. Note that this history is a list of all surnames connected to the RIDENOUR family with the given names of each member and data such as above for each. What you have above is more than at the average listing. I hope this is of some help to you. Jerry Dittman Boonsboro, MD.

Marcia: Deaths weren't recorded in Ohio by the state until 1908. As Pickerington is in Fairfield County, there MIGHT be an article on it in the Lancaster Eagle/Gazette. Check http://www.ohiohistory.org, Archives/Research Tools and check into the newspapers they have available. It's possible that you could inter-library loan the newspaper microfilm from that era. I would also check for other newspapers in Fairfield Co for that timeframe. Hi Listers, You all were so helpful when I asked about Dealton, I am going to try another town. I have William Jaynes b. April 12, 1851 Fayette Co. PA, married to Nancy J. Hill living in Shawnee, Perry Co. Ohio in the 1880 and 1900 census.(The family was located in Shawnee since 1879)(His first wife was Ella McCelland whom he married on July 21, 1873 according to family Bible) His death is listed in Perry Co. Vitals as 9-16-1901 in Pickerington, Ohio. Cause listed as poison!! I of course wanted to find an article on his death, if possible (that cause sure got my curiosity up)! Or an obit or something on this poison death cause!! But I am not sure how to go about this. I went to the Fairfield Co. website on Rootsweb, but found nothing I could do to find out about this death there. Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated... Marcia Hurtt
My Perry county ancestors were the family of John and Chloe (Chloah) HOMES/HOLMES. They left Virginia and arrived in Perry County around 1831. Families along side the Holmes line include MARLOW, CORFMAN, along with a BEERY from Fairfield. These families were instrumental in founding the Baptist church in Monday Creek Township.
