    2. I have a Johanna WOODRUFF born about 1783 probably Fayette, Washington, or Greene County, PA. She was married to James McCLELLAND 1772-1847. I have no other personal data on either, but, do have an extensive list of their descendants. An aside; a good many of the surnames that have been appearing in the roll call are common in the Fayette, Washington, and Greene Counties, PA. areas. Jerry Dittman Boonsboro, MD.

    2. Denise Mills
    3. I have some information on the Sibleys. Not sure if they are related yet or not, but I have James SIBLEY as the son of Levi SIBLEY and wife Sarah. I'm trying to determine if Sarah is Sarah MILLS. Levi and Sarah had, from what I have found, I think, 11 children. I don't have the names of all of them. They probably had: 1. A son b. between 1825-30. 2. A daughter b. between 1830-35. 3. Jane R., b. abt. 1833 4. Mary, b. abt. 1835 5. A son b. bet. 1835-40 6. Sarah Ann, b. abt 1839 m. 1864 Josiah OAKS 7. Virlinda, b. abt. 1843 m. 1862 W. A. PRICE 8. Horace, b. abt. 1845 9. James, b. abt. 1847, m. 1870 Susanna ASHBAUGH (only children I have listed for them are Charles and Deslise) 10. David, b. abt. 1851, m. 1876 Alice A. SHERLOCK 11. Rebecca, b. abt 1852 Sarah (MILLS?) SIBLEY d. between 1852-1859. Levi remarried Rachel WELTZ in 1859. They had one son that I have found: Henry H., b. abt March 1860. He married an Amanda M. I believe that Sarah might be the daughter of Thomas H. MILLS and Virlinda HARRISON. In the 1850 census, the Levi and Sarah are living next door to Thomas and Virlinda. In the 1860 census, Thomas and Virlinda have David SIBLEY, age 9, at school, living with them. Levi and Sarah also named one of their daughters Virlinda. Haven't proven the connection or that Sarah was Sarah MILLS yet. Hope this is helpful. 3. When we went on our genealogical trip last year we followed the Storts trail in reverse. My Storts ancestors changed their name to Stotts in a dispute over court case involving land inheritance. They left Ohio and eventually ended up in Missouri. We went from Missouri, to Perry County and then to Somerset County. We noticed that both areas had coal. I don't know what kind of coal it is but I was told in Somerset County that it is very close to the surface and the people in Southampton Twp at the top of the highlands there could just pick it up by hand. The Christian Sturtz (he was the immigrant) family lived at the very top there in the southeast corner of Southampton Twp, just a mile or so from the PA border. Incidentally, I think that Somerset in Perry County must owe it's name to Somerset County in PA. Incidentally, the name has been through several changes. It was originally Stotz (from Lauffen an der Eyach, in Wuerttemberg), became Sturtz in PA, John Jacob changed it to Storts when he enlisted in the Rev War, and then John Jacob's oldest son Daniel, changed it to Stotts. His third son, Abraham, moved to Missouri with his wife, Elizabeth Notestine, the daughter of Mary Burket and Leonard Notestine. In the Bear Run cemetery in Bearfield Twp, Perry County, you can see both John Jacob Storts' gravestone and Daniel Stotts' gravestone. I believe that Daniel's brother Jacob also changed his name to Stotts. The court case went on for some years and is available in the court records for Somerset County, PA, on microfilm from the Family History Library. Sandra Paser has done admirable research on this family--her book may be in the Perry County Library-- I'm not sure.
