For Tom Palmer, I drove by Salem church last night and they were having church in the newer of the two churches.? Does anyone out there have any data on the CHURCH families of Perry Co OH. Laurie Dunham My great grampa was a Frank E Church Black 1863 OH - 1927 CA (rr conductor for the So Pacific). He was born at Maxwell OH July 19, 1863, likely to Elizabeth Black and a Church; perhaps a James Church. Frank was the maternal grandson of Henry and Susanna Carey Black from Perry Co OH who moved onto Hardin Co OH about 1865 or so. Also, is there any data on even a James Black for this county (Perry)? Thank you. ----- Original Message ----- From: [email protected] To: [email protected] Sent: Tuesday, August 21, 2007 3:01 AM Subject: OHPERRY Digest, Vol 2, Issue 179 Today's Topics: 1. obits (Barbara & George Grenier) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Message: 1 Date: Mon, 20 Aug 2007 16:48:15 -0700 From: Barbara & George Grenier <[email protected]> Subject: [OHPERRY] obits To: [email protected] Message-ID: <[email protected]> Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"; format=flowed Barbara Southern California ====================================================================================== MUNYAN, Jayden Daniel, 4 (HAMMERS MARTINDALE MASSIE JONES) http://www.zanesvilletimesrecorder.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070820/OBITUARIES/708200321/1023 ====================================================================================== WINEGARDNER, Paul Fredrick, 52 (HUPP) http://www.lancastereaglegazette.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070820/OBITUARIES/708200311/1023 ====================================================================================== ------------------------------ To contact the OHPERRY list administrator, send an email to [email protected] To post a message to the OHPERRY mailing list, send an email to [email protected] __________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to [email protected] with the word "unsubscribe" without the quotes in the subject and the body of the email with no additional text. The Hopewell Baptist Cemetery (Hopewell Twp. Perry Co.) clean - up day is scheduled for this Sat. Aug. 18 from 7 a.m.- ? Marilyn Metzger is in charge of the upkeep of this cemetery and has initiated this clean up. She advises us that a monument company will be assisting with the stones and quik-crete has already been delivered for repairs. For those of you who can not be there, please keep in mind that you can participate by making a donation to this wonderful cause. All donations will be used for supplies and possibly a marker / sign for this specific cemetery. Any funds should be sent to: Hopewell Twp. Cemetery Restoration Hopewell Twp. Trustees % Marian DeRolph, Clerk 4692 Hopewell Indian Rd. Glenford, Ohio 43739. Due to the lack of an accurate reading, I reread this cemetery last Fall and will be doing another reading after the clean - up is finished. Anyone having information about the history of the Church, cemetery or persons interred there is urged to contact me % the Perry Co. Chapter, OGS P. O. Box 275 Junction City, Ohio 43748-0275 or via my email [email protected] Our hats off to Marilyn and her crew for caring enough to preserve our ancestors grave sites. Sue Saylor

Elaine, Our Chapter has read and recorded all "known" cemeteries in Perry County by Township. Our Coal and Salt Lick Township Cemetery publication does not have a listing for a stone for this surname nor does our Monroe Township Cemetery publication. Please keep in mind that this data is derived from the reading of the stones, so if a stone is badly worn or now gone, we would not have information on that person in our book. Perhaps father and son moved to Iowa?? Sue, Is there any chance you have access to cemetery records before 1881? Sometime during the early 1850's my 4th gr-grandfather died most likely in Saltlick twp. I don't know where he is buried. My 4th gr-grandfather was JOHN ACORD, widowed and aged 84 (b. 1865-66), lived in SALTLICK TWP. in 1850 with his youngest son Enoch Acord. I can't find a grave for John or his wife CATHARINA ELIZABETH ACORD anywhere. In 1840 they lived in Monroe twp., Perry County on land owned by John Acord, Jr. I believe Enoch left Perry County to join a brother in IA after his father died, and that John would be buried in either Saltlick or Monoe twp., Perry County. If you don't have access to this information, can you guide me into the right direction for my research? I may be able to visit Perry County before winter, hopefully. I would love to place a flower on my 4th gr-grandparents' graves. Sue <[email protected]> wrote: Robert, If you are referring to the "Deeds to Lots, 1881-1885, no, we do not have any Secrists listed.
