No, Ohio. Junction City is in Perry County, Ohio. Roseville is split between Muskingum and Perry Co. Ohio, so it may be listed in either. Is that Roseville, CA, you mean? Ron Forsyth ************************************** See what's new at http://www.aol.com
Does anyone have any information / pictures of the Roseville and the Junction City prisons? Sue [email protected]
Carol and all. I have copied all of the information I had at this rootsweb site to http://www.perrycountyohio.us and then some. Click on "Content" from the home page. One item I've added is the entire 1850 Census for Perry Co. I bought the microfilm and scanned every page. Carole, You have a good point about the subject of messages. We had already corresponded with Carol previously regarding the obits. she is seeking. We do not have them in our files at the library. I believe she is looking for someone to search microfilms or old papers for her. Since our Chapter has some obits. on our website, I will add our address to those you have posted. http://www.perrycountychapterogs.org/ For those of you who have been following the messages about a genealogy room, posted by Ron Forsyth, please note that he is referring to an Internet "chat room" that may be visited by aol subscribers. This is not the same as the Perry Co. Chapter's genealogy room at the New Lexington library where our collection is housed. Try Ancestors.com, it has a choice of every state, city and county in the United States. ************************************** See what's new at http://www.aol.com
OK, there is another way. Click on "People" at the left top of the screen, then click on "Find a chat." When it opens, look at the bottom left words, "Special Interests." That opens up the chat room menus. Scroll down, it's in alphabetical order, until you see "Genealogy" Open it up and there you are... Here is another excellent site for Perry County researchers http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~tfisher/tefishermain.htm Carole
As there doesn't seem to be an administer of the OHPERRY list I will attempt to point out an important thing about postings. If you want a response to your message be sure and put an appropriate heading in the SUBJECT box. If you post a message inquiring about a different subject by replying to a previous message and leave the subject the same as that message your inquiry may not be read. eg - someone posted by "Reply" a message in which they wanted information about the Perry County "genealogy room" but the subject on the message was "[OHPERRY] Obits- Decker - Park - Woodruff". Those not interested in Decker - Park - Woodruff would probably just delete the message without reading it. For the person interested in the genealogy room and Perry County obits I direct her to: http://www.hockinggen.com/perry/resources/online.shtml http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~maggieoh/mperry.html Carole
I do not see any listing for Perry County on the chat list. What is the name of the chat? Thanks, Michele ************************************** See what's new at http://www.aol.com

I would like to get in touch with someone who can help me with getting some obituaries. Does anyone on here live in Perry Co. or know somone who does?. AOL Chat Room Listings Click on the web site above Rea, that will bring up the listings. In the bottom of the left hand corner you will see "Special Interests." Click on it and a new listing will appear. Scroll down to the Genealogy one, click on it and it will open. I was very surprised last night when I checked it out to find about 6 or 7 people in it. They remembered me from years ago. LOL...We will have to work on it I guess to get more people active again... Ron Forsyth PS. By the way, my grandfather, Charles Forsythe, was born in Mt. Perry, OH. He became the first owner of a livery stable in Silverton, CO in the late 1800's. The local genealogist there told me years ago he thought grand dad might have been the sheriff in another county in CO. ************************************** See what's new at http://www.aol.com
